In accordance with Section 18 of the Representation of the People Act, 1983, the City Council must give effect to polling district boundary alterations following the Periodic Electoral Review. The Overview and Scrutiny Commission, at its meeting on 20th June, 2002, agreed that a Special Overview and Scrutiny Panel be formed specifically to look at the polling district boundaries.
