Exempt Information To consider passing a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972 to exclude the press and the public from the meeting for the following items of business, on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information, as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, as amended by the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Minutes: The Committee agreed to pass a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972 to exclude the press and the public from the meeting for the Taxi Licensing Committee Thursday 6 February 2025 following items of business, on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information, as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, as amended by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 |

Application for the Grant of a Private Hire Vehicle Driver Licence Minutes: The Committee:
a) Considered all that was said by the driver;
b) Considered all of the information contained within the report;
c) Considered all of the relevant policies referred to in the report;
d) Asked itself whether it would want a person they cared for, or a vulnerable person, to be driven in a vehicle by the driver.
The Committee agreed:
1.
There were sufficiently exceptional, clear or compelling reasons to
depart from the Policy on the Relevance of Convictions and
Conduct; 2. To grant the driver’s application for a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.

Application for the Grant of a Private Hire Vehicle Driver Licence Minutes: The Committee:
a) Considered all that was said by the driver;
b) Considered all of the information contained within the report;
c) Considered all of the relevant policies referred to in the report;
d) Asked itself whether it would want a person they cared for, or a vulnerable person, to be driven in a vehicle by the driver.
The Committee agreed:
1.
There were sufficiently exceptional, clear or compelling reasons to
depart from the Policy on the Relevance of Convictions and
Conduct; 2. To grant the driver’s application for a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.

Application for the Grant of a joint Private Hire Operator Licence Minutes: The Committee:
a) Considered all that was said by the driver;
b) Considered all of the information contained within the report;
c) Considered all of the relevant policies referred to in the report;
d) Asked itself whether it would want a person they cared for, or a vulnerable person, to be driven in a vehicle by the driver.
The Committee agreed:
1.
To allow the joint application for a Private Hire Operator’s
Licence; 2.
To allow the renewal application for a Private Hire Driver’s
Licence; 3.
To take no further action against the driver’s Private Hire
Vehicle Licence; 4. To apply a formal comment on the driver’s record ensuring the failure to renew the Private Hire Operator’s Licence would not happen again. |
