However, under this item the Committee wished to express their sincere thanks for Steve Forshaw’s service over many years in the Taxi Licensing department, expressing that he would be missed and wishing him all the best for the future.

Exempt Information

To consider passing a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972 to exclude the press and the public from the meeting for the following items of business, on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information, as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, as amended by the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The Committee agreed to pass a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972 to exclude the press and the public from the meeting for the following items of business, on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information, as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, as amended by the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Application for the Grant of a Private Hire Vehicle Driver Licence

Minutes:

The Committee:

 

a)    Considered all that was said by the driver;

b)    Considered all of the information contained within the report;

c)    Considered all of the relevant policies referred to in the report;

d)    Asked itself whether it would want a person they cared for, or a vulnerable person, to be driven in a vehicle by the driver.


The Committee agreed:

1.    To allow the application for a Private Hire Driver’s Licence.

For (4)
Councillors Gilmour, Moore, Morton and Raynsford.

Against (2)
Councillors Freeman and Lugger.

Review status of a Hackney Carriage Vehicle & Private Hire vehicle driver licence

The Committee:

a)    Considered all that was said by the driver;

b)    Considered all of the information contained within the report;

c)    Considered all of the relevant policies referred to in the report;

d)    Asked itself whether it would want a person they cared for, or a vulnerable person, to be driven in a vehicle by the driver.

The Committee unanimously agreed:

1.    To issue the driver with a warning letter reminding them of the professional standards of being a taxi driver.
