The Committee –

(a)

considered the report from the Director of Public Health;

(b)

heard from WG:

(c)

took the above report and all that was said into consideration.

The Committee agreed that it was prepared to act outside of its policy and grant WG’s application for a Restricted Private Hire Driver’s licence (subject to any remaining pre requisites being completed).  This was on the basis that WG had been carrying out a similar role to the one he was applying for a substantial period of time.  The grant of the application was subject to the following conditions:

That within the first 12 months of being licensed WG be required to successfully complete:

1.    The VRQ in Transporting Passengers by Taxi and Private Hire or equivalent

2.    Child Sexual Exploitation and Adult Safeguarding Course

Whilst the Child Sexual Exploitation and Adult Safeguarding Course was required to be completed within the first 12 months of being licensed, Members requested that WG attend the next available Safeguarding course.
