Exempt Information To consider passing a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972 to exclude the press and the public from the meeting for the following items of business, on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information, as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, as amended by the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Minutes: The Committee agreed to pass a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972 to exclude the press and the public from the meeting for the following items of business, on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information, as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, as amended by the Freedom of Information Act 2000. |

Review Status of a Hackney Carriage Vehicle Driver Licence Minutes: Due to the taxi driver not being able to attend the meeting, the Committee agreed to defer this item to the next meeting.

Review Status of a Private Hire Vehicle Driver Licence Minutes: The Committee:
a) Considered all that was said by the driver;
b) Considered all of the information contained within the report;
c) Considered all of the relevant policies referred to in the report;
d) Asked itself whether it would want a person they cared for or a vulnerable person to be driven in a vehicle driven by the driver.
The Committee agreed:
1. The driver’s Private Hire Vehicle Licence would be suspended until such time as the DBS check had been received by the Taxi Licensing Office.

Review Status of a Private Hire Vehicle Driver Licence Minutes: The Committee:
Were informed there had the driver was unable to attend the meeting due to personal reasons.
The Committee agreed to continue in the driver’s absence due to the serious nature of the report.
The Committee:
a)
Considered all of the information contained within the
report; b)
Considered all of the relevant policies referred to in the
report; c) Asked itself whether it would want a person they cared for or a vulnerable person to be driven in a vehicle driven by the driver.
The Committee agreed:
1. To revoke the driver’s Private Hire Driver’s Licence ‘for any other 1. reasonable cause’ under s19(1) (b) Plymouth City Council Act 1975 as they no longer consider the driver to be a fit and proper person to hold a Private Hire Taxi Licensing Committee Driver’s License.

The Committee agreed to continue in the driver’s absence due to the serious nature of the report.
The Committee:

Considered all of the relevant policies referred to in the
report; c) Asked itself whether it would want a person they cared for or a vulnerable person to be driven in a vehicle driven by the driver.
The Committee agreed:
1. The driver’s Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence would be suspended until such time as the DBS check had been received by the Taxi Licensing Office and the driver had completed the safeguarding refresher course.
