Exempt Information

To consider passing a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972 to exclude the press and the public from the meeting for the following items of business, on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information, as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, as amended by the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The Committee agreed to pass a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local  

Government Act, 1972 to exclude the press and the public from the meeting for the following items of business, on the grounds that they involved the likely disclosure of exempt information, as defined in paragraph 1 and 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, as amended by the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The Committee agreed: 

 

  1. To take no action against the Private Hire Vehicle Driver’s Licence;

Review Status of a Hackney Carriage Vehicle Drivers Licence, Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence, Private Hire Vehicle Drivers Licence and Private Hire Vehicle Licence

The Committee took the following into account:  

 

  1. All that was said by the driver;

  1. All relevant policies referred to in the report.  

 

 

The Committee agreed: 

 

  1. To suspend the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s licences for 6 weeks;  

 

  1. To require the driver to complete within six months of the committee date (23 April 2026) the City Bus Driving Course and the Ambassador’s course. If these courses were not completed within six months, the licence would be further reviewed by the Committee; 

 

  1. To take no action against both the Hackney Carriage Vehicle and Private Hire Vehicle Licences.

Review Status of a Private Hire Vehicle Driver Licence and Private hire Vehicle Licence

The Committee took the following into account:

The Committee agreed:

 

1.     To issue an official warning letter

 

2.     To take no action in relation to the Private Hire Vehicle Licence.

 

 

At the conclusion of this item, the Committee agreed to change the order of the agenda to allow more time for a driver to attend the meeting for item 164, and to hear agenda items 165 and 166 next.
