Following a presentation from Julia Cory representing NHS England, a wide-ranging discussion took place on the future of Primary Care Services.

The Board agreed –

1.    That members of the Board should review the GP Forward View document and consider what more their organisations could do to build effective relationships between primary care and wider local services;

2.    Through the Plymouth Plan, that the Board will encourage action to develop and strengthen relationships with general practice services in local areas, in order to generate benefits for the whole system;

3.    That the Board will capture and co-ordinate current activity regarding organisational lobbying (such as funding formula/powers/innovation) and ensure it is contained within the Plymouth Ask and shared with all Board members;

4.    Request that NHS England and the CCG, at future date, provide a report to the Board which describes how the Western Locality is working with Primary Care toward greater integration, specifics on NHS England spend in Plymouth and options to co-commission primary care as part of integrated fund.
