Delivery of Acute Hospital Services in Devon

Minutes:

Kevin Baber (Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust) provided Board Members with a presentation on the Delivery of Acute Hospital Services in Devon. The presentation was published with the supplementary agenda pack.

 

Members discussed –

 

(a)

issues surrounding workforce numbers and retention highlighted in the review;

 

(b)

possible future joint working between Plymouth City Council and the hospital regarding maternity and paediatric services specifically regarding mental health services and the Council’s Early Help offer;

 

(c)

concerns raised regarding timings associated with transitional care from child to adult services;

 

(d)

how information presented at the meeting fitted into the vision and wider strategy of the Health and Wellbeing Board;

 

(e)

Plymouth’s selection for a CQC targeted review into delayed transfer of care.

 

 

Agreed that –

 

1.

the Health and Wellbeing Board notes the initial recommendations from the review and agrees that further information on the consultation and final proposals should be provided to the Board when appropriate;

 

2.

an informal meeting is arranged to review the health and wellbeing strategy within the Plymouth Plan.
