The Health Overview and Scrutiny Panel establishes Scrutiny Select Committees or Pairings to undertake specific scrutiny work that is normally time limited.  At the completion of their work the Committee/Pairing reports their findings, with recommendations, back to the Health Overview and Scrutiny Panel (business meeting) who then refer the report to the Overview and Scrutiny Commission.

Joint Health Scrutiny Committee

Councillors from the Health Overview and Scrutiny Panel also participate in Joint Health Scrutiny Committee reviews when a local NHS body consults more than one overview and scrutiny committee on any proposal it has under consideration for a substantial development of health service or of a substantial variation on the provision of such service.
