Community Grants 2022/23





Following a significant increase In attendance at Bolitho Park, Honicknowle, local residents and councillors have had to endure months of inconvenience, anti-social parking and danger on the highway caused by visiting users of the complex.  The ward councillors have requested minimal interventions to support clear access to the streets. The Traffic Management team have assessed the locations in question and the Parking team have undertaken months of observations, therefore double yellow lines will be proposed in locations to aid visibility, increase road safety and to prevent antisocial




St Aiden's Church are working with the Fit & Fed programme and 'Feast of Fun' to try and alleviate school holiday hunger. Funding will support the church in their summer activity programme and go towards providing children who attend with hot meals.




To support Lakeside Club with a contribution towards providing kit and equipment for all under 14s. Particularly to make it accessible for struggling families.




To support the Barefoot Project in Ernesettle who work with young people in communities across the north west of the city to build trusting relationships and provide safe space to enable young people to take control of their future. The grant will fund events in the community and equipment for dance.


A donation via Big Give Christmas Challenge, in order for the charity to get match funding for their donation. Funding goes towards Trevi House with plans for further projects in progress to support more women and children across the city. This donation will be paid in December.

To support St Aiden's Church in Ernesettle who will be operating longer opening hours and providing activities for families such as games and art and crafts with aim of helping with the cost of living and energy crisis.


To support the Ernesettle Community Forum Fund with a contribution towards the purchase of Mince Pies, Clotted Cream, Chocolate Selection Boxes etc. for the residents of Ernesettle




To support the OWSI project working with the Peninsula Dental School to bring dental health education to primary schools within the Honicknowle Ward with a contribution towards to costs of books and other items.




To support Timebank SouthWest with a contribution towards a community notice board on Honicknowle Green


To support Ernesettle Community School with a contribution towards their crowdfunder, providing Local families with an opportunity to learn new cooking skills in order to create healthy and affordable family meals


To support the Civil Enforcement team with a contribution to either supplement a capital spend on a new CCTV camera for the ward or used to fund the temporary deployment of a 4G camera (£400 for three months) to meet the urgent need on any anti-social behaviour in Honicknowle Ward/


To support Plymouth Football Bootbank with a contribution towards equipment needed to run activities for those who are suffering with deprivation and mental health issues
